What Trolls taught me about Happiness

The unhappy and miserable Bergens who perceive the only way to be happy was to eat trolls.
The negative and grumpy Branch who is cynical and against being happy.
1. Happiness is not something you seek from outside, it's inside you.
The story brings us on the journey of how Poppy, the happy Troll, help Branch and the Bergens find happiness. She believes that happiness is found within all of them and everyone deserve happiness.
The Bergens found happiness when they start to seek it internally rather than from externally (eating the Trolls).
Branch found happiness when he started to shift his perspective from a negative to a more positive one.
The mindset of Poppy believing that everyone deserve happiness (even the Bergens who tried to kill her) revealed her kind-hearted nature. Because of her kind and pure heart where she sees the good in people and situations, she can be happy.

2. Hug time- Trolls' Self Care Time
The favourite past time of Trolls are singing, dancing and hugging- their secret to happiness!
The scheduled hug time also reminds me of the scheduled self-care time that we, as humans should set for ourselves- to rest and add happiness in our lives!
Learn it from the Trolls!

3. Life is all about Perspective
Branch: "The world isn't all about cupcakes and rainbows. Bad things happen and there's nothing you can do about it."
Poppy: "I know life is not all rainbow and cupcakes but I rather go through life thinking that it's mostly is , rather than being grumpy all day."
Indeed, in life, we will experience unpleasant and negative things.
However, that shouldn't stop us from enjoying life and believing in the beauty of this world. Getting stressed up worrying about the negative things that will happen like Branch will just stop us from enjoying life at its present.
Why not enjoy life while it lasts?
Many times, we are the source of our misery because of our negative thought patterns and perspectives.
4. There's always a bright side.
When met with the danger of their friend, Creek, being kidnapped and possibly being killed, Poppy and Branch perceive the situation differently.
While Poppy is certain that there is no positive side in the situation and Creek has been killed, Poppy still believes in the possibility of a positive outcome even though she's unsure.
Sometimes, it is really about keeping the faith and hoping for the best. You never know, it might turn out to be true!
